Brooklyn Bridge Park
Brooklyn Bridge Park is an 85-acre world-class sustainable park on Brooklyn's East River shoreline. The park revitalizes 1.3 miles of Brooklyn's post-industrial waterfront from Atlantic Avenue in the south, under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, to Jay Street north of the Manhattan Bridge. It provides unique views of the Manhattan skyline and the New York Harbor. Visitors to the park can enjoy a multitude of activities including picnicking, biking, rollerblading, playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball, or taking part in free events like movies, fitness classes, and stargazing sessions. The park is also home to Jane's Carousel, a restored 1922 carousel, and numerous playgrounds for children. Piers 1 through 6 offer different attractions such as sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, a marina, and sports fields. The park's design incorporates various eco-friendly features and habitats for local wildlife. It is a leader in sustainable park development, using recycled materials for construction and operating with a commitment to conservation and ecological resilience. Brooklyn Bridge Park serves as a vibrant urban oasis for both residents and visitors, fostering community engagement and providing a peaceful retreat from city life. It is not only a hub for outdoor activities but also a space for cultural events, environmental education, and public art installations, making it a cornerstone of New York City's park system.
