Hewlett is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. Part of the Greater Hewlett area, which includes the communities of Hewlett Bay Park, Hewlett Harbor, and Hewlett Neck, the hamlet is within the Town of Hempstead. Hewlett is characterized by its small-town feel, tree-lined streets, and a mix of residential homes ranging from high-value properties to more modest family dwellings. The community is known for its well-regarded schools, local commerce, and proximity to New York City, which makes it a popular choice for commuters. The Five Towns shopping area, which Hewlett is a part of, offers a variety of retail and dining options.
