Our Story

After 27 years of operating Expat Exchange, our flag-ship website that caters to the needs of expatriates all over world, we decided it was time to turn our attention to New York City and the area that surrounds it.

People all over the world dream of living in the Big Apple and taking advantage of everything it has to offer. It is an international cultural icon that has more to do and see than anyone can possibly squeeze into a lifetime. But why not try?

As natives of the New York Metropolitan area, we have intimate knowledge of what it means to live here. We have lived in New York City. We have lived outside New York City. We have worked in Manhattan and all around it.

So we know that people who move out to the suburbs do it for all kinds of reasons, but they still want to stay in the game. They still want to soak up every ounce of energy that New York City exudes.

And with that, the idea for Blue Burbia was hatched. We want to help you find your place in the suburbs, settle in, and then enjoy the best of both worlds. If you already live in the suburbs, we want to help you find what you need to enjoy it more fully. And if you live in the City, and want to find something fun to do on the weekends - either in the city or outside of it - we're here for you too!
